Meet the Girl

Hey there, sweet friends. I’m Bree and I’m so excited that you’ve come across my little blog. I started blogging on January 23, 2014 after much debate with myself, and now 3 years and a second blog later I’m so glad I decided to take the plunge and click that publish button. I started blogging because I believed that I needed some sort of creative outlet to express myself and also place certain memories of my growing family. I am truly passionate about creating a beautiful thriving home, life, and business. On this blog you will see these passions come to life in post about parenthood, organization, and even DIY projects. My vision for this blog is to be able to reach out to all types of people about the everyday practical things we experience.

About Bree

If you know me and have been following my previous blog, then you know I LOVE facts and list! Idk if it’s the perfectionist in me, but I love seeing facts numbered. So of course I found it fitting that I do a “Facts List” all about me to help my followers learn a few things that they wouldn’t know.

1. I never in a million years thought I would be a mom to boys, but I wouldn’t change a thing!

I’m a total diva who loves all things girly, so of course I thought that I would have a house full of girls. I couldn’t have been more wrong and I’m glad that I was! God blessed us with two precious little boys, Alex and Liam who completely fill my heart with love, laughter, and insanity. I love every minute of it!

2. The scariest day of my life was when I almost lost my husband in a motorcycle accident.

October 2012, I’m 8 1/2 months pregnant with Alex when I get a phone call telling me that my husband (then boyfriend) was in ICU due to a motorcycle accident. I have never been so scared in my life! Thankfully he pulled through but he did injure a few nerves resulting in a “Brachial Plexis Injury” which means he has very limited movement of his right arm and hand. Its something we have been living with for a while now and we will continue therapy to restore function. I just thank God everyday for sparing his life, I couldn’t imagine life without him, my best friend.

3. I’m an aspiring Dental Hygienist, but sometimes I’m still uncertain if that’s exactly what I want to do.

I have been in the Dental field for years so of course when I was ready to further my career the logical move seemed to be to stay in the dental field as a hygienist or even a dentist, but sometimes I feel like I want a career I’m more passionate about such as writing, makeup, or working with children. I swear I change my mind constantly but I really believe I’m set on dental field… I think?

4. I can secretly sing, but I’m too shy to ever let anyone hear my voice.

Growing up as a little girl I was obsessed with Whitney Houston and use to always sing her music (I still do to this day) in private until one day my mom heard my voice and called herself giving me homemade vocal lessons. She somehow got me setup to sing for my 5 grade graduation, well long story short I got scared and chickened out. 2 years later I was brave enough to sing to my music teacher and landed a solo at a school event, this time I didn’t chicken out and the show turned out great but I was such a nervous wreck. I vowed to never sing in front of anyone again, and that’s why I DONT SING! I’m just too scared!

5. We brought our first home in the suburbs outside Atlanta in 2015 and now only 2 years later we have almost outgrown it!

God knew exactly what he was doing when he moved us into our little home, and we have so many special memories already in the 2 years we have been here. Who would have thought that in that short amount of time our space would become so limited and yes although I whine and complain about it from time to time, I really enjoy living here with my family. Having “limited space” has allowed me to explore my creative side and think outside the box when it comes to utilizing smaller spaces. I know we wont be here forever, but we are so thankful for our home and enjoying everyday while were still here.

6. I Love To Read

Even most people who know me don’t know this, but I have a passion for a good read!! The dark side about my reading is that I’m so obsessed with having a good read I often move onto another book before I finish my current book, but I have recently gotten better with that, because I have made a pack to read a book a month and not start a new book until I’m finished with what I’m reading. My favorite book is “ROOM” by Emma Donoghue, and the current book I’m reading at this moment (March 2017) is “A Dogs Purpose” by W. Bruce Cameron.

7. I Love Cooking!

Honestly I have only been cooking for like 5 years anytime before that I had 0% experience, but now that I’m cooking on the regular I’ve come to love it! Although I’m no Rachel Ray I’m constantly improving on my dishes and I’m always trying new things. The only thing I need to improve on is my presentation. WHY can’t my food presentation look like a 5 star restaurant? I’ll just keep working on that!

8. Seven Is My All Time Favorite Number!

Seven has always been a lucky number for me ever since I was a little girl and even into my adulthood its been a meaningful number. My Husband and I got Married on July 7, 2014, just so I could have 2 sevens in my wedding date. In a perfect world I would probably name a child Seven but I’m not trying to give off Star Trek Voyager vibes!

9. I Love Cleaning and Organizing, But I’m The Biggest Procrastinator!

I’m The lady who forget’s to put the clothes in the dryer after waiting all day to wash the clothes in the first place.

PROCRASTINATION!!!

This is something that I’m currently working on and I have really been better with it lately but honestly with a brand new baby here, half the time I feel to tired to really tackle my organizing the way I really want to! Thats about to change. I plan on implementing a new process, I promise to keep you all posted.

10. I Plan To Write a Book One Day.

I love reading and hope that one day I will be able to write my own book. I plan to write both a children’s book and a fictional novel. I don’t know all of the details about my novel yet (I’m still in the brainstorming stage), but what I do know is that the characters for my children book will of course be my sweet boys Alex & Liam.
